The decisions people get wrong.
Short explanations of the things that cost customers money: what the numbers on a datasheet mean, what the warranty covers, and what happens before a building is quoted.
- What happens at a building surveyA building quote follows an on-site survey. It is a paid, scheduled visit where we measure the glass, check orientation and specify a film per elevation.
- How the NanoShade e-warranty worksDigital, registered against your installation, with a certificate by email and a number you can check years later. Includes the 30 day activation window.
- What VLT means, and how to choose a shadeVLT is the percentage of visible light that passes through the glass. It decides how dark the film looks, and it is not what decides how much heat is stopped.
The questions people ask before they choose
Short answers here, with the full detail on the page each one names.
- Which film suits my car or my building?
- Every film we sell has its measured heat, infrared and UV figures published, taken from the manufacturer data sheet. Compare them side by side, then tell us the vehicle or the glass and we will say which one fits. See the published figures
- Does a darker film stop more heat?
- No. Heat rejection comes from the ceramic layer, not from how dark the film looks, which is why a light film can stop more heat than a dark one. The VLT article explains what the number measures. Read what VLT measures
- What does the warranty cover, and how do I claim?
- The e-warranty is registered to your installation, and the certificate arrives by email. There is no card to lose, and you can check it at any time. How the e-warranty works
- What does it cost?
- Standard prices are published per film, per car size and per square metre of glass. For a car the exact figure comes over WhatsApp. For a building or a house it comes after the survey, which is a paid visit whose fee is deducted from the invoice. See standard prices
